A Wry Catch

Who's got the answers
Who do you trust
I can't even separate love from lust.

Maybe... I'm a twenty-something.

You've got to slow it down. I suppose. Start. Go. Stop. I'm not too worried about it though. Lost is just a show. It would be nice though. But it's good and I have no complaints. Well, perhaps one small teeny tiny complaint. I NEED A LIFE OUTSIDE WORK!!!! hahahaha! (audible) sigh.

It's still fun though. Today me an' Ben had to run around makati to put up posters in production houses. Of course we (I) forgot part of the posters so I had to leave Ben and run back to the office to pick up the remaining stuffs we (I) forgot. Not mention I had to rehash an RC. Which I semi-wrote in the car while doing all our errands and stuffs. When we put up the posters, the people around liked them so I'm a happy camper.

Someone stop me from talking about work already!!! huff huff huff...

Here's hoping I can go wakeboarding soon. Like for reals. I haven't touched salt water in ages. I need to do something other than this. I'm a-goin' nuts! I've been super sloth. Haven't been to the gym, haven't done any sort of physical activity other than the nightly thumb exercises I do on me xbox. Here we go Pacers, here we go! My team absolutely kicks pixelized ass! No team can withstand my onslaught! My Pacers are so good it's scary. Ifrightenmyselfsometimesthey'reawesome! Woohoo!

The nice thing about new friends is that they can turn into old friends, which I really like. I also got a little bit of a confidence boost when this girl asked if she could set me up with her friend. Cool! Heh, cool 'til she finds out I'm a geek! hahahaha! I hope her friend is just as hot as her. Should be fun. If I were a sim, my career bar would be up but my social bar would be way down. Cellar. Rhymes with stellar. Which are two different things. I'm not making any sense.

So I wait for you and I'll burn
Oh will I ever see your sweet return
Oh will I ever learn

I was standing out on the balcony a little while ago having a smoke. Looking out and watching the cars below mill about. The wind was strong. It messed up my hair. Damn wind. hehehe.

But seriously, it was nice standing alone out there. The ground felt solid beneath my feet. T'was good.

And God says, "Now would be a good time to throw marc a curve ball."

Oh shit.

My class 3 armour of eagle feathers will protect me from your weak two-handed broad sword strike

http://www.bbspot.com/News/2003/09/rpg_life.html

I dunno weather this is cool or pathetic....

....honestly, I think its soo cool.

Sugar, We're Going Down

My Chemical Romance and stuff like this, punk-emo's really growing on me. How can you not just rock out to this song? Killer.

Fall Out Boy
Sugar, We're Going Down

Am I more than you bargained for yet
I've been dying to tell you anything you want to hear
Cause that's just who I am this week
Lie in the grass, next to the mausoleum
I'm just a notch in your bedpost
But you're just a line in a song
(A notch in your bedpost, but you're just a line in a song)

Drop a heart, break a name
We're always sleeping in, and sleeping for the wrong team

We're going down, down in an earlier round
And Sugar, we're going down swinging
I'll be your number one with a bullet
A loaded God complex, cock it and pull it

Is this more than you bargained for yet
Oh don't mind me I'm watching you two from the closet
Wishing to be the friction in your jeans
Isn't it messed up how I'm just dying to be him
I'm just a notch in your bedpost
But you're just a line in a song
(Notch in your bedpost, but you're just a line in a song)

Drop a heart, break a name
We're always sleeping in, and sleeping for the wrong team

We're going down, down in an earlier round
And Sugar, we're going down swinging
I'll be your number one with a bullet
A loaded God complex, cock it and pull it

Down, down.

Bugbog

My seatmate is playing George Michael's version of I Can't Make You Love Me. Originally done by Bonnie Raitt.

WHHHHYYYYYY GGOOOOODD!!!!!!!!

hehehehhe. 'la lang. :)

So Jaz has invited me (and the usual suspects I presume) to the magnificent return of The JG Poker Tour Saturday Classic Extravaganza! Woohoo! uhh. I dunno if I'm ready for the big leagues yet but I guess they think I'm ready. We'll see. If I don't got workisms bustin' all up in here. Masyado atang hardcore 'tong mga 'to. Masaya na ako just to win the Relativity Poker Invitational. But it does sound like loads of fun. Plus we get to play with really good players. Bahals.

Oh! And I met the belly dancer of Prince of Jaipur. She's romanian. She's a milf.

And! I'm super tired. Exhaustion city. I wanna lay in the bath (or a bacta tank) for a while, 'til my fingers are all wrinkly. Then sleep. When I have a house, I need to have some speakers in the bathroom. Pipe in some elevator music you know, something that's not too interruptive.

Perhaps one o' those japanese water things with the bamboo and stones and stuff. Like a little waterfall or something. It has that 'tok' sound. Though I can imagine myself getting really annoyed with it after about 10 minutes. Well, if that happens, I can give it to the kids. I'm sure they'll love it. Not! Oh c'mon, it'll be great. Think of it as G.I. Joe's rain forest adventure playset. There ya go, enjoy. That's real water son. Yeah, they don't make 'em like they used to.

My arm's tired.

New things, same things

The rain comes down
like a victory
in sheets of shining
memory

On the walk to work, I pass by a Laundromat. I love the smell of fresh laundry. It's like a fresh start. And speaking of new beginnings, Claude just had a baby! I hope to be able to visit them later after work. Wow. A baby girl. People are becoming fathers. People are becoming mothers. Is there anything bigger or more important in the world? I can't imagine what they must be feeling.

And speaking of babies, did anyone know that Chris Cornell separated from his wife Susan Silver? And has already re-married and has two children and another on the way? Talk about catching up for lost time. He has two daughters (don't call me daughter, not fit to.) Lillian and Toni and is expecting a new baby boy with his wife Vicky. It's insane that I just found this all out last night. I'm supposed to be on top of this sort of thing! I am ashamed. So last night, I did all my research and I think it's fair to say that once again, I am the undisputed knowledge holder of all things Cornell. And I have about 50 megs of downloaded interviews to prove it! Hard and tiring work to be sure but there is no substitute for thoroughness.

Finally after years of living with my grandparents, they've finally given me a key to the house gate. Well, for security reasons and my unusual hours of coming home, they've had to leave the gate unlocked for me. Apparently, some fool went inside the house. Well, not inside inside the house. Sort of in the perimeter. Hence, my new key.

In other news, my yeye just came back from the hospital. He had a tube type thing inserted in his arm to prepare for a future operation. Or something. Dammit Jim I'm.... I'm... I'm.... n-not a doctor? No, I am a doctor, what I'm not is a surgeon! So.... I wouldn't.... know.... about those things. Sigh. He's fine, everything's fine, we're all fine here... now... how're you? (That was from Han in Star Wars Episode 4 (The scene where Han and Luke are dressed up as stormtroopers and are trying to free Princess Leia from the detention block)) But I wanted to go to Toshi station and get some power converters! Frick'n geek.

Moving on to more geekiness, I've got warpath, powerglide, cosmos, gears and huffer displayed on top of my monitor, a gift, courtesy of my friend. He knows me so well. I even made a little drama for them. See, warpath and powerglide are the daddy and mommy respectively and cosmos is their son. Powerglide and warpath are mad at gears and huffer for making their son cry. You know, boys will be boys and sometimes kids can say mean things to one another. Unfortunately, Cosmos is quite a sensitive little autobot and failed to see the humor of him being called milky way. (for his insistence on drinking milk from the bottle, even though he's already 6 light years old) God I'm such a geek. A geek who's easily amused! Hahahaaha!

This is what I do in my downtime. Make little dramas over Transformer mini-bots and keep myself up-to-date on all things Cornell. Ah the life.

Heaarts, Clubs, Diamonds or Spades

'Tis only in the small hours of the morning.
When I'm happiest.
When the world is asleep.
When I'm free.
When I can spend time playing with the paperclips on my desk.
Or the toys atop my monitor.
When there's no one to bother me.
And I'm not expecting any calls.
Or complaints.

My iTunes seems to be reading my mind.
The playlist has been moving from Elliot to Tom to Jaime.
Perfect.

I feel really lucky.
If I was playing poker right now,
I would absolutely have the nuts.
And I'd be slowplaying a table of fish.

Is it weird that I wish I would die now?
I wanna die happy.
I want this to last.
I guess it would be selfish of me to want that.

Everything evens out eventually.
Just like in poker.

And a flat tire is what you use a jack four.

If I live long enough, I think
that I will enjoy my family
the most.

I had dinner with them tonight.
I was discussing with Earl the finer points of Lindsey Lohan.
He thinks she's just ok.
I can't decide between her and Hilary Duff.
Neither can he.
Having a brother is great.

There's one thing lacking though.

Drawing on the river.
As they say.

It was my last hand.
Before busting out.
And the house took me.
For I lost to someone I couldn't read.

I went "all in".
And that's all she wrote.

Trip

People here really make me laugh sometimes. Someone just started playing "electric dreams" on their iTunes. That was my absolute favorite song when I was a kid. Who remembers the song "Jabonga"? These guys are so funny. Then they started doing 80s dance moves.

Good times.

Then last night, me and Ben we're pulling the night shift as usual. Our boss came over to check on what we were doing. So as Ben was explaining the layout to her, instead of saying Pantene he said Pantera. It was the funniest shit ever, I couldn't stop laughing.

I guess you just had to be there.

Anyway.

All Your Base Are Belong To Us

Ok, this is a "for crying out loud" moment I'm having here. Insanity unimaginable is imminent. I would chew my fingers if only I knew it wouldn't hurt so much. chomp chomp chomp. Thankfully there's such a thing called Destiny.

When I’m weak I draw strength from you
And when you’re lost I know how to change your mood
And when I’m down you breathe life over me
Even though we’re miles apart we are each other’s destiny

Rage subsiding....

The thing with staying overnight in the office is that you've got all this time to sit and think. I do the sitting part real good. Sometimes the thinking. (fuck it you 'know?) The better you know yourself, the less you let things bother you.

The thing is, I'm really glad to do what I do. Honestly, it's nothing great. I'm not changing the world or anything. I'm not even saving whales and such. Though that would be nice to do someday. I'd also like to help the homeless. And can someone please feed Lindsey Lohan?! Girl needs to eat! I don't like skinny ninnys. I prefer girls with some meat in them, preferably mine! Hahaah! (Oh c'mon that was a good setup! It doesn't get any better than that!) Hmmm... there are already too many exclamation marks in this entry..... !!!!!!

I was just thinking how nice it would be right now to plop on my bed. Bury my head under the pillows. There has to be a way in which scientists could invent some kind of a device that would allow me to play video games while my head is buried beneath some pillows. Will somebody get to work on that right away, ya? Thanks. Needin' a breakthrough here.

And in other news, I read online that some dude from Korea died after playing video games for 50 hours straight. So I'm here wondering if he also died in the video game or did he put it on pause before he croaked? And what the hell game was he playing? Can somebody look into that please and get back to me, ya? Thanks.

So this afternoon I presented a story with a talking dog. It's actually a guy in dog suit. I just love people in mascot suits and I'll use every opportunity I can to get more people in suits. That and midgets. And hitting people in the face with mundane household objects. Like a stamp pad or something. So yeah, my story didn't go over too well with the bigs. Well one person laughed at least so I didn't totally bomb. But that's cool. I'd rather write my shit than look like everybody else's. Hmmmm... am I subconsciously trying to get myself fired? Thinking further on that, it's kinda fun working that way. Like, what do I have to do to get fired in this place? e-heh. Now that's funny shit. I find it funny though, the looks on the bigs faces right after I present a storyline, like, they don't know how to react. They give me a polite smile and a nod, not quite sure how to react to what I just said. Ok, granted, sometimes even I don't really know where I'm going with the stuff I write for them. uh... It's all very confusing sometimes, the voices in my head just won't stop! They won't shut up! Help! They whisper "all your base are belong to us..." over and over again.

They did like my other story though about the guy who kept wrecking stuff. When in doubt, smash something. That usually works.

So I've been super itching to watch the two remaining Miyazaki films. It's on my to-do-list along with cutting down on the quarter pounders with cheese intake. The Mcdonalds here has double cheeseburgers available so I might switch to that so the letdown is not as harsh. But damn they're delicious. If you don't die overweight, then you haven't lived. Strangely, even with all the crap I'm eating, I'm actually losing weight. Hahahah! It's the best diet on earth! Go Big Time what do I care! Shit I'm getting hungry just thinking about that quarter pounder with cheese. Juicy burger. Steaming hot. Crisp large fries. Ice cold Coke. I swear, I'm easy to please. Too easy sometimes.

The other night, we ate out and the bill came back to us at 4 grand. Holy crabsticks! There were only 3 of us, and not one of us bothered to look at the prices of what we were ordering. We each had a whole crab going for a grand each. The food was good but damn that's 4 grand for dinner. Ah well. We just laughed it off and went for desserts.

Such is life I suppose.

Loff

I needs some medication.

This is one of the worst colds I've ever had, add to that a nasty sore throat that feels like someone's jabbing a sharp pin in my throat every time I swallow. The trash bin beside me is close to overflowing with used tissues of my snot and mucous and every "th" word I utter sounds more like a "d". Like dat, like dat.

I'm a one man guy in the morning,
same in the afternoon,
one man guy when the sun goes down,
I'll whistle me a one man tune.

Sorry, more Rufus.

It's just so romantic. Loff it.

I really am such a sap.

Even if his lyrics aren't really romantic, it's the music and the way he sings that I find so enthralling. It's got a cadence to it. Each word expressed and sung with such care and attention. So lovingly sweet. So lambing. And of course tinted with sad sunglasses. Such a deft touch. Like drinking tea from a china cup. Hot. Drink slowly.

I think I also like the way his songs have this attitude about them, as if to say, yeah we know we're a little long. We know we take a while to get going. But after 5 or so minutes, you end up not wanting the song to end just yet. Let them play for a bit more, draw it out even longer, extend this note another step and a half.

Sometimes, I imagine myself walking into an old and dirty saloon, somewhere out west. Piano player in the corner. Tip my cowboy hat over my eyes and disappear beneath a bottle of whatever poison they're serving in this place.

Other times, I would be dancing a slow waltz, arms around a pretty gal. My breath on her shoulder, her breath on my cheek. Completely oblivious to the other dancers around us. The yellow glow of the antique chandeliers making everyone look dusted in gold. And the smell of her skin.

And there are times when it feels precisely like the moment when your body is at the fullest extension when you stretch in the morning in bed.

a depth is there. that i find lacking with most things. or perhaps i'm just a snob who doesn't take the time to get to know people better. or maybe people really are that shallow. well, some people.

ba-dum-pom.

I watched a lot of looney toones as a child and listened to a lot of Carpenters. I was also carried a lot. (hated walking). I ate slowly (I was usually the last one to finish his plate) and spent hours playing in the bathtub (all my toys got rusted). I love looking out windows (especially car windows, if I'm not driving). I love to sing (only when no one's looking or within earshot). I'm generally a lazy person but will go out of my way for friends. I hate rap except if your name is Young MC or the Jurassic 5. I'm currently on a bet with someone that requires me not to smoke for 40 days and 40 nights. I will win. Because I'm super competitive and love a challenge. It's always been my dream to say to someone (anyone really) the phrase; "you don't know what I'm capable of" in a very gravel-ly batman type voice and scare the beejeezus out of them. As a child, I was always the leader not because I said so, but because I always thought of the best games to play. I recently saw an 8-track tape for the first time and thought it was so cool. I recently finished reading a book and thought it was over too quickly, so now I'm reading a book with 53 chapters in it. In 3 months, I've filled up a 100 page notebook with nonsensical ideas most of which will never see the light of day (nor would I want them to, they're like gremlins except no Phoebe Cates). The more I'm taught, the more I learn my instincts were right all along. I love architecture, especially Japanese, ancient and modern all at once. I'd probably be a republican. I'd like to sleep more, if only it were possible. It was never about the money, I pray it never will. Sundays are usually reserved for chubby 8 year olds (soon to be nine). The rest of the days, nights mostly, are mine.

And that has made all the difference.

Wainwright

Cigarettes and chocolate milk
These are just a couple of my cravings
Everything it seems I like's a little bit stronger
A little bit thicker, a little bit harmful for me

If I should buy jellybeans
Have to eat them all in just one sitting
Everything it seems I like's a little bit sweeter
A little bit fatter, a little bit harmful for me

And then there's those other things
Which for several reasons we won't mention
Everything about 'em is a little bit stranger, a little bit
harder
A little bit deadly

It isn't very smart
Tends to make one part
So brokenhearted

Sitting here remembering me
Always been a shoe made for the city
Go ahead accuse me of just singing about places
With scrappy boys faces have general run of the town

Playing with prodigal sons
Takes a lot of sentimental valiums
Can't expect the world to be your Raggedy Andy
While running on empty you little old doll with a frown

You got to keep in the game
Retaining mystique while facing forward
I suggest a reading of a Lesson in Tightropes
Or surfing Your High Hopes or adios Kansas

It isn't very smart
Tends to make one part
So brokenhearted

Still there's not a show on my back
Holes or a friendly intervention
I'm just a little bit heiress, a little bit Irish
A little bit Tower of Pisa
Whenever I see ya
So please be kind if I'm a mess

Cigarettes and chocolate milk
Cigarettes and chocolate milk
